Birth Rites

Don't Cross the Line . October 2003 Artist led exhibition co-curated with Jai Redman, UHC Collective. Sited three installations across Manchester City Centre exploring the broad theme of Cultural Imperialism. Radio Halo, an exhibition of site-specific installations on the theme of astronomy, organised and curated by Helen Knowles. Sited in the Arboretum at Jodrell Bank Science Centre.

 

Art Works

'Growth Investment' Plant-paper casts of botanical instruments from a derelict botany lab. Sited in the Royal Exchange Theatre Manchester as part of ‘Don't Cross the line' , October 2003. ‘Immigration' , ‘Adventurous Wild Flowers : Their Art and Science' . Gallery Oldham . 2002. Created the installation ‘Immigration' for a five person touring show which featured wild flowers that have broken the yoke of human control. ‘Leather Floor', One Tree Exhibition' . Royal Botanical Gardens, Edinburgh , touring show, 2001. Oak bark from a felled Oak tree used to tan deer hides in the arboretum at Jodrell Bank and create a leather floor.

‘Sailing Species'. October 1999 Site specific installation in Bretton Heath Country Park . Collaboration with Elizabeth Stuart Smith referring to the navigation of the globe in a quest to amass botanical knowledge. Mono-prints floating on water.

‘Pollinate' Group show at The Botanic Gardens, Dundee . 1999. Lipstick, 6 x 6 greenhouse, cast plant fibres.

‘Paul Cann Travel Award' 1994 Tate Gallery. Travel Bursary to Spain and France to look at Miro and Picasso's responses to the Spanish Civil War. Sketchbooks produced.
